about

The CDR says 'Executed in the cellar between October 2005 and January 2006".

This may have been the first time we'd used one of those new-fangled computer things for recording on. I think it's also the first time we used some of those new-fangled children things on backing vocals.

It was recorded and mixed in the Fuzzynoise cellar using a very cheap HP PC running Windows XP and Audacity. We bought a multi interface PCI card with many wires hanging out of it that looked like an electronic octopus. It only had four analogue inputs, but it did have a digital stereo input as well. When rigged up to the DAC on the back of a Phillips DCC recorder it enabled us to record 6 tracks at once. What a brilliant nightmare.

The last of the 'banjo albums', and definitely the last time I changed the strings on it.
