about

These songs were recorded in the Fuzzynoise Cellar in the spring and summer of 2004. We had just finished recording some louder guitar based songs and, out of the blue, Paul Cannell phoned me for the first time in years after having been in Cornwall for a few years. Practically before he had even said 'hello', I told him he was in the band. He was pretty much in out and of our lives again by the end of 2004, but it was a summer to remember.

The track listing here is slightly different to the original CDR. I found a straight to Minidisc song called 'Magnet Sky' that we never played again. It sounds pretty much the same as the other tracks, ie, not much care and attention paid to detail, just five friends making a racket, so I have included it here.

Bonus item 1 - Gone To Seed was originally released as a CDR, in a red outer sleeve in the form a seed packet.

Bonus item 2 - Photograph upstairs at The Cauliflower in Ilford in 2004. Probably taken by Helen.

Bonus item 3 - Trad Arr band portrait that Mr Cannell drew on the back of a beermat in about 5 minutes. His bedroom floor used to be littered with amazing cartoons. I wish I'd picked them all up.

There is a video we made in the Fuzzynoise cellar for the title track 'Gone To Seed' that is on YouTube. We must have made it slightly later in the year as Cannell had flown off again by the time we made it.
